One Card
The Onkaparinga Library service is now part of the public library 'one card' network. Over the next 3 years, the network will grow to connect the systems of more than 130 public libraries across South Australia to let you borrow and return items wherever you go, using your current library card.
Access millions of books, DVDs, CDs magazines. Yes, millions! With access to multiple libraries, the materials of all participating libraries become available to you.
Access millions of books, DVDs, CDs magazines. Yes, millions! With access to multiple libraries, the materials of all participating libraries become available to you. If you've always wanted a wider choice of books, DVDs, CDs and magazines from your local library, you'll find lots to love about the new 'one card' network.
Borrowing what you want is just a click away. Use the catalogue to look up items at any participating library and reserve them with a click. You no longer have to separately look up multiple library catalogues. When your items become available, they will be delivered to your preferred library.
You can now download a free smartphone app, Bookmyne, that lets you access the library system. Use Bookmyne to search the catalogue, place reservations and renew loan periods while on the go.
More information and the timetable for the first year of the rollout is available here.

Our libraries now offer a large collection of downloadable eBooks and audiobooks including classics, new releases, nonfiction and bestsellers. You can download eBooks and eAudio via your compatible eReader, iPad, smart phone, mp3 player, PC and laptop. Before you get started there are a few things you will need to have ready.
To access the eBook and eAudiobook collection you will need:
- A valid library card
- Internet access (free WiFi is available at all Onkaparinga libraries)
- A compatible eBook reader, mobile device or computer (Please note that Kindle e-readers are not currently compatible with the Overdrive library eBook service in Australia due to Amazon licensing issues)
- An Adobe ID for use with Adobe Digital Editions and Overdrive Media Console
For smart devices, such as phones and tablets, apps are available for both the Apple IOS and Android operating systems.
There are two collections available:
eBook and Audiobook Collection
The eBook and AudioBook collection has a limit of 6 books per customer which expire at the end of the due date. When you first access your account you can specify a loan period of 7, 14 or 21 days. Please remember to change this loan period (default is 7 days) before you commence downloading as the due date of the item can't be reset once it is on loan.
Open Access eBooks Collection
The open access eBooks collection consists of thousands of titles that don't expire or count towards your 6 eBook or eAudioBook limit. In this collection you will find the classics and other titles in the public domain.
If you require assistance please contact library staff at your local library or phone 8384 0655.
